What is the $2 Million Bosch Microwave Oven Class Action Settlement?
Bosch has agreed to a nearly $2,000,000 class action settlement regarding certain Microwave-Oven Combination appliances. This settlement addresses claims that specific microwave ovens were sold with defective control panels. According to the lawsuit, these “VFD” control panels in the affected microwave ovens would dim, fade, become unreadable, or fail completely. Although Bosch denies these allegations, they have agreed to the settlement.

Class members can receive a cash payment according to the following tiers:
Tier 1:
- Tier 1(a): If your display panel failed on or before March 7, 2024, you may be eligible for reimbursement of up to $400.00 for out-of-pocket expenses, provided specific documentation is submitted.
- Tier 1(b): An extended service plan benefit of three years from the date of purchase.
Tier 2:
- If your display panel failed after March 7, 2024, you may qualify for an extended service plan benefit of three additional years from the purchase date. Documentation may be required for this tier.
Do I Need Proof of Purchase to Qualify?
For Tier 1 rewards, you may not need to provide proof of purchase, but you will need to complete a declaration as part of your claim form.
- Proof of Ownership Declaration: You must declare under penalty of perjury that you have searched for but could not find documentation proving ownership, but you qualify for the class due to purchase or receipt of the microwave oven.
- Proof of Display Panel Failure Declaration: You must declare under penalty of perjury that you searched for but could not find documentation of the display panel failure, but your microwave experienced a display failure.
How Do I File a Claim?
To receive a payment from the Bosch class action settlement, submit your claim form between now and February 12, 2025. The submission period varies depending on your tier. You may need to provide documentation and/or a declaration under penalty of perjury.
