Consumers who purchased nonorganic Alderfer eggs for personal or household use since December 1, 2020, may be eligible for a cash payment of $2–$3 per carton from a $287,500 class action settlement.
The lawsuit alleges that Alderfer Family Farm LLC and Alderfer Poultry Farm Inc. falsely advertised certain eggs as coming from free-roaming hens. While the companies deny any wrongdoing, they have agreed to settle the case.
Who’s Eligible?
Anyone in the U.S. who bought Alderfer nonorganic eggs (any size or count) between December 1, 2020, and the date the court grants final approval of the settlement.

How Much Can You Receive?
- Without Proof of Purchase: Claim up to 2 cartons for a flat $2–$3 per carton.
- With Proof of Purchase: Claim unlimited cartons by submitting receipts or documentation.

Why Was This Lawsuit Filed?
The lawsuit accused Alderfer of misleading advertising, claiming their nonorganic eggs were laid by free-roaming hens, which the plaintiff argues violated New York consumer protection laws. Alderfer denies these claims but agreed to settle to avoid further litigation.
