Why Was This Lawsuit Filed?
The lawsuit claimed that MarinHealth Medical Center disclosed website users’ personal and/or health information to third parties—specifically Facebook and Google—through the use of Meta Pixel technology, without proper consent. Plaintiffs argued this practice violated privacy rights.
While denying any wrongdoing, MarinHealth has agreed to:
- Remove Meta Pixel technology from its websites
- Refrain from reinstalling such tools without first notifying and obtaining consent from users
