Overview
Sport Squad Inc., operating under the brand name Joola, has agreed to a $790,000 settlement in response to a class action lawsuit alleging the company falsely advertised certain Gen 3 pickleball paddles as approved by the USA Pickleball Association.
Consumers in the U.S. who currently own a Joola Gen 3 Paddle and did not accept Joola’s previous offer to return the paddle may be eligible for either a $300 cash payment or a $150 gift code.
Who Is Eligible?
To qualify, you must meet all of the following conditions:
- Reside in the United States.
- Own and currently possess a Joola Gen 3 Paddle (or a substantially complete one).
- Did not previously accept Joola’s offer to return the paddle for compensation.

Settlement Benefits
There are two benefit categories:
- Category 1: If you have proof of purchase from an authorized retailer, you may receive $300 per eligible paddle.
- Category 2: If you do not have proof of purchase, you may receive a $150 gift code per eligible paddle, usable at www.joola.com.
You may claim multiple paddles in either or both categories.
How to File a Claim
Claims can be submitted online or by mailing a completed form to the settlement administrator. The deadline to file is December 15, 2025.

Once your claim is approved, you will receive a prepaid FedEx label via email to return your paddle(s). Payment is contingent on paddle return.
Proof Requirements
- Category 1: Proof of purchase from an authorized retailer is required.
- Category 2: No proof of purchase is needed.

- Category 1: Cash refund.
- Category 2: One-time gift code redeemable on the Joola website.

Total Settlement: $790,000
Breakdown:
- Attorneys’ fees and expenses: $790,000
- Service awards to lead plaintiffs: $10,000 each (total $20,000, paid from attorney fees)
- Administration costs: Amount to be determined
- Remaining funds: Distributed to eligible claimants

When Will Payments Be Sent?
Payments will be issued after the court grants final approval of the settlement and any appeals are resolved. Class members must return their paddle(s) to receive payment.
Why the Settlement?
The lawsuit claimed that Joola falsely advertised certain Gen 3 paddles as USA Pickleball Association-approved. While Joola denies all allegations, it agreed to settle in order to avoid ongoing litigation costs and delays.
