Vaco $3.1 Million Washington Pay Disclosure Class Action Settlement


Overview

Vaco LLC and Vaco Seattle LLC have agreed to pay between $2.05 million and $3.13 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging that they posted job listings in Washington without including legally required pay and benefits information.

Washington job applicants who applied for positions with either company between January 1, 2023, and August 14, 2025, may be eligible to claim an estimated $1,395.28 to $5,000 as part of the settlement.


Who Is Eligible?

You may be eligible to file a claim if you meet all of the following criteria:

  • You applied for a job with Vaco LLC or Vaco Seattle LLC in Washington state.
  • Your application was submitted between January 1, 2023, and August 14, 2025.
  • The job posting you responded to did not include required information such as a wage scale or salary range, or a general description of benefits and compensation.

The settlement administrator identified potential class members using internal company records and sent notices to individuals who may qualify.


Settlement Amount and Payout Estimates

  • Total Fund Range: $2,052,093.19 to $3,130,650
  • Estimated Individual Payment: Between $1,395.28 and $5,000, depending on the number of valid claims submitted

Each eligible claimant who submits a valid claim will receive an equal share of the net settlement fund after attorney fees, administrative expenses, and the class representative’s award are deducted.

Payments will be classified as nonwage damages and reported on a 1099 tax form.


How to File a Claim

You can submit a claim in two ways:

  1. Online: Use the claim form and enter the Notice ID and PIN provided in your settlement notice.
  2. By Mail or Email: Download the claim form (found on Page 25 of the settlement agreement), complete it, and send it to the settlement administrator.

Payment Method

  • Payments will be issued by paper check, valid for 120 days.
  • Any unclaimed funds will be sent to the State of Washington under the claimant’s name as unclaimed property.

When Will Payments Be Sent?

Why Was There a Settlement?

The lawsuit claimed that Vaco LLC and Vaco Seattle LLC violated Washington state law (RCW 49.58.110) by failing to include salary ranges and benefits in their job listings. While the companies deny any wrongdoing, they chose to settle in order to avoid further litigation and associated costs.
