What is the $2 Million Suave Aerosol Antiperspirant Class Action Settlement?
A $2 million class action settlement has been reached regarding Suave antiperspirant deodorant sprays. This lawsuit was initiated following a national recall of some of Unilever’s deodorant and aerosol spray products due to internal reports indicating that certain Suave sprays contained higher-than-expected levels of benzene. A similar class action was previously settled by Right Guard over elevated benzene levels.
Consumers who purchased any of the following Suave antiperspirants between January 1, 2018, and March 7, 2024, may be eligible for a payout from this settlement, with or without proof of purchase:
- Suave 24-Hour Protection Fresh Aerosol Antiperspirant
- Suave 24-Hour Protection Powder Aerosol Antiperspirant
What is Benzene?

How Do I Qualify for a Payout?
To qualify for a payment from the Suave settlement, you must have purchased one of the specified Suave aerosol antiperspirants between January 1, 2018, and March 7, 2024, for personal, family, or household use (not for resale). A valid claim form must be submitted by July 15, 2024. Failure to file a claim will result in no payment.
How Much Can I Get?
No proof is necessary to file a claim in the Suave settlement. However, consumers who provide proof of purchase may receive the full purchase price (including taxes). The payout structure is as follows:
- With Proof of Purchase: Full purchase price, including taxes.
- Without Proof of Purchase: $3.29 per unit, for up to three units (totaling $9.87).
Payments may be adjusted based on any previous cash or voucher reimbursements received, with a minimum payment of $0.00. The total payout to class members may also be adjusted to ensure it aligns with the available funds from the $2 million settlement.
