Cannon Corp. has agreed to a $537,500 settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit stemming from a January 2023 data breach. Individuals who were affected—including current and former employees and their dependents—may be eligible to receive up to $10,000 or other benefits.
The lawsuit claimed unauthorized actors accessed sensitive personal information during a cyberattack, including names, dates of birth, contact information, Social Security numbers, and various government-issued IDs.
Who Is Eligible?
You may qualify if:
- You received a notice from Cannon Corp. about the January 2023 data breach
- You were residing in the United States at the time of the incident
- Your personal information was compromised as a result of the breach
What You Can Claim
Eligible class members can request one or more of the following:
1. Unreimbursed Economic Losses:
- Up to $10,000 for actual, out-of-pocket financial losses related to the breach
- Includes fraud or identity theft losses, attorney or accountant fees, credit repair services, and credit freeze/unfreeze costs
- Must be supported by documentation
2. Pro Rata Cash Payment:
- Estimated at $40, depending on the total number of approved claims
- Available to all eligible claimants regardless of economic loss
3. Free Credit Monitoring:
- Two years of three-bureau credit monitoring services

Claims without proof of loss may still qualify for the pro rata payment and credit monitoring.

When Will Payments Be Issued?

Why Is There a Settlement?
