Eastern Radiologists $3.25 Million Data Breach Settlement

Overview

Eastern Radiologists Inc. has agreed to a $3.25 million class action settlement following a data breach discovered in late 2023. If you received a notification that your personal or health information was compromised in this breach, you may be eligible for:

  • Up to $5,000 for documented out-of-pocket losses,
  • A pro rata cash payment (estimated at around $50),
  • And/or one year of free medical account monitoring.

The lawsuit claimed Eastern Radiologists failed to adequately secure sensitive data. While denying wrongdoing, the company chose to settle to avoid further litigation.

Who Is Eligible?

You may file a claim if:

  • You were affected by the data breach discovered around November 24, 2023, and

Compensation Options

1. Reimbursement for Out-of-Pocket Losses (up to $5,000):

  • Costs related to identity theft or fraud
  • Fees for credit freezes or credit report access
  • Notary, postage, and copying expenses
  • Credit monitoring or fraud prevention costs

Note: If claims exceed $200,000, individual payments may be reduced proportionally.

2. Alternative Pro Rata Cash Payment:
If you do not claim specific losses, you may request a pro rata cash payment. The estimated amount is around $50, but the final figure depends on how many people file valid claims and the remaining settlement funds after deductions.

All claimants—regardless of cash choice—can opt in for one year of free medical account monitoring, which includes:
