If you bought a video game from GameStop’s website while logged into a public Facebook profile using your real name, you may be eligible for a payout of up to $5 in cash or a $10 GameStop voucher as part of a $4.5 million class action settlement.
GameStop agreed to settle claims it violated the Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA) by allegedly sharing customers’ personally identifiable information with Facebook through the Meta Pixel without proper consent. The company denies wrongdoing but agreed to resolve the case to avoid continued litigation.
