California consumers who were charged by HelloFresh for their first subscription shipment without their knowledge or consent may be eligible for a full refund through a $7.5 million class action settlement.
Grocery Delivery E-Services USA Inc., doing business as HelloFresh, agreed to settle a lawsuit alleging it failed to clearly disclose and obtain consent for automatically renewing subscriptions, resulting in unauthorized charges to California customers.
Who Is Eligible?
To qualify, class members must meet all of the following:
- They were enrolled in a HelloFresh automatic renewal product subscription in California between January 1, 2019, and August 18, 2025.
- They were charged for their first shipment without their knowledge or consent.
- They canceled their subscription after that first shipment.
- They did not previously receive a refund for the unauthorized charge(s).
What Is the Payment Amount?
Eligible class members may receive a full refund of the amount paid for the first HelloFresh shipment that was charged without proper consent.
If the total amount of valid claims exceeds the $7.5 million settlement fund, payments will be reduced proportionally.

Required Information
To file online, claimants must provide the Class Member ID included in their settlement notice.
Payment Method
Approved class members will receive a paper check by mail.
Checks will expire 90 days after the date printed on the check.
