Reason for Settlement
The lawsuit alleged that certain Husqvarna trimmers were defective and posed a fire risk due to electrical sparks or arcing, particularly when gasoline was present. Husqvarna denied any wrongdoing but agreed to the settlement to resolve the matter and provide compensation to customers. The agreement followed a recall conducted with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, though plaintiffs argued the recall remedy was inadequate.
