Identity Intelligence Group LLC, the company behind IdentityIQ, has agreed to an $8.77 million settlement to resolve claims that it violated California law by enrolling consumers in automatically renewing subscriptions without clearly disclosing the terms.
Consumers who were charged for an automatic renewal of IdentityIQ services between March 22, 2019, and August 20, 2023, may be eligible for a cash payment.
Who Qualifies for a Payment?
You may be eligible if:
- You are a California resident
- You enrolled in an IdentityIQ membership between March 30, 2011, and August 20, 2023
- You were charged one or more renewal fees on or after March 22, 2019
Settlement Terms and Payout Details
- Total Settlement Fund: $8,769,854
- Payment Type: Pro rata cash payout – all eligible members will receive an equal share of the remaining settlement fund after fees and expenses are deducted

Why Was This Lawsuit Filed?
The class action lawsuit alleged that IdentityIQ violated California’s Automatic Renewal Law and Unfair Competition Law by failing to clearly and conspicuously present renewal terms when consumers signed up for subscriptions.
