A $950,000 class action settlement has been reached with Keurig Green Mountain Inc. over claims that certain K-Supreme coffee makers can permanently lose power during the descaling process. Consumers who purchased or experienced issues with the affected models may be eligible for up to $250 or a 12-month warranty extension.
Who Is Eligible?
The settlement includes two groups of consumers:
1. Performance Issue Claim Class:
You may qualify for a cash payment if, between October 1, 2020, and June 20, 2025, you either:
- Filed a complaint with Keurig that your K-Supreme, K-Supreme Plus, or K-Supreme SMART coffee maker lost power permanently during the descaling process within the first 12 months of purchase and did not receive a remedy under Keurig’s warranty,
or - Can show a valid claim that your coffee maker had operational problems during the descaling process.
2. Coffee Maker Purchaser Class:
You may qualify for an extended warranty if you purchased a K-Supreme, K-Supreme Plus, or K-Supreme SMART coffee maker or related descaling solution between October 1, 2020, and June 20, 2025.
Note: Consumers whose coffee makers are still covered under Keurig’s original or extended warranty are not eligible for this settlement.
What Compensation Is Offered?
For Performance Issue Claim Class:
- Eligible individuals can receive up to $250 in cash, depending on the number of claims filed.
- Multiple claims may be submitted for different coffee makers, but total compensation is capped at $250 per person.
For Coffee Maker Purchaser Class:
- Eligible individuals can receive a 12-month warranty extension, totaling 24 months from the purchase date, if their machine loses power during descaling due to the alleged defect.

Settlement Fund Details

When Will Payments Be Issued?
Approved payments and warranty extensions will be processed approximately 120 days after final court approval of the settlement.
Why Was the Lawsuit Filed?
The lawsuit alleged that certain Keurig coffee makers were defective and could lose power permanently during the descaling process when used as instructed. While Keurig denies any wrongdoing, it agreed to settle to avoid the uncertainty and cost of further litigation.
