The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) has established a settlement fund with LasikPlus and Joffe MediCenter in response to allegations from consumers and the FTC. This settlement, agreed upon in January 2023, allows qualified consumers to file claims until May 20, 2024.
The FTC alleged that LasikPlus and Joffe MediCenter employed bait-and-switch tactics to lure consumers with LASIK surgery advertised at under $300 per eye. However, many found out during consultations that the actual costs were significantly higher.
To be eligible for a payout from the LasikPlus FTC settlement, you must have visited a Joffe MediCenter or LasikPlus for a consultation and declined LASIK surgery because you did not qualify for the advertised price of less than $300 per eye.
The FTC has sent notifications via email and letter to consumers who may be eligible. If you have questions or need assistance, you can call the FTC administrator at 1-877-871-0504.
Approximately 159,711 individuals may be eligible for payment from the LasikPlus settlement. The payout will vary and will depend on the number of valid claims submitted by the May 20, 2024 deadline.
To receive payment from the LasikPlus FTC Settlement, you must submit a claim form online by May 20, 2024. For more information, visit the FTC claim form page linked below.
