What Is the Macy’s Class Action?
A $10,500,000 class action settlement has been reached with Macy’s over allegations concerning certain cotton sheets. The lawsuit claimed that Macy’s inaccurately labeled and advertised the thread count on “CVC” cotton sheets, listing a higher count than what was actually present.
Although Macy’s denies any wrongdoing or false advertising, they have agreed to settle for $10.5 million. The Court has not ruled that Macy’s engaged in any misconduct.
How Do I Know If I Qualify?
You may be eligible for compensation if you purchased cotton sheets from a Macy’s store in the United States between November 8, 2013, and March 24, 2023. The sheets in question, known as CVC sheets, must have been supplied by AQ Textiles.
How Much Can I Get Paid?
The settlement provides cash payments as follows:
- With Proof of Purchase: If you provide proof of purchase, such as a receipt or verification from Macy’s or AQ Textiles, you can receive $7.50 per unit of CVC sheets purchased.
- Without Proof of Purchase: If you do not have proof of purchase, you may still receive $2.50 per household, sworn under penalty of perjury that you purchased qualifying products.
Payments will be made on a pro-rata basis from the settlement fund, adjusted for legal, administrative, and court costs.
Do I Need Proof to File a Claim?
No proof of purchase is required to file a claim, but providing proof can increase your payout to $7.50 per unit. Claims without proof will be limited to $2.50 per household.
