Mattress Firm Faces $6.4 Million Settlement Over Deceptive Advertising Claims
Mattress Firm Inc. has agreed to pay up to $6.41 million to settle a class action lawsuit accusing the company of falsely advertising discounts on its website. Consumers who purchased mattresses through www.MattressFirm.com while physically in California between August 1, 2020, and July 16, 2024, may be eligible to receive $40 per mattress, up to four mattresses per transaction.
Who’s Eligible?
To qualify for compensation, you must meet all of the following conditions:
- Purchased 1 to 4 mattresses in a single online transaction at MattressFirm.com
- Were physically located in California at the time of purchase
- Made the purchase between August 1, 2020, and July 16, 2024
What You Can Receive
Eligible consumers can choose from the following compensation options:
- $40 cash per qualifying mattress (maximum of four), subject to reduction if total cash claims exceed $2 million
- $40 store credit per mattress, redeemable at MattressFirm.com — not subject to reduction
How to File a Claim
Consumers can submit claims online or by mail. Only one claim form is needed per person, regardless of the number of mattresses purchased.

If you do not file a claim, you will automatically receive store credit instead of cash.
