If you bought an electronic ticket to the Museum of Sex in New York City through its official website between August 29, 2022, and October 30, 2024, you may be eligible for a $4.00 refund per ticket as part of a class action settlement.
The lawsuit claimed that the Museum of Sex LLC and MoSex Exhibit 1 LLC failed to clearly disclose mandatory service fees, allegedly violating New York law. The companies have agreed to settle the case without admitting wrongdoing.

How Much Will You Receive?
- Refund Amount: $4.00 per eligible ticket purchased.
- Class members with valid claims will receive the full amount of service charges paid, based on the number of tickets purchased.

To receive a refund, submit your claim by June 20, 2025. Claims can be submitted:

Settlement Fund Details
The total settlement fund is $475,000, which will cover:
- Attorney’s fees and expenses: Up to $156,750

When Will Refunds Be Sent?
If the court grants final approval during the July 29, 2025 hearing, payments are expected to be sent approximately 100 days later to eligible claimants.
Why Was There a Lawsuit?
The class action lawsuit alleged that the Museum of Sex failed to properly disclose the mandatory $4.00 online ticket service charge, violating New York Arts and Cultural Affairs Law § 25.07(4). Although the defendants deny any wrongdoing, they agreed to the settlement to avoid further legal expenses and proceedings.
