What Is the Noom Lawsuit About?

This case addresses Noom’s auto-renewal and cancellation practices. The lawsuit alleges that Noom violated common law and state consumer protection laws by failing to clearly disclose the terms of its auto-renewal offer for the Noom Healthy Weight subscription and by not providing a straightforward online cancellation process.

Noom is an online platform aimed at helping people live healthier lives through behavior change, claiming that by using behavioral psychology, they can help individuals develop lasting, positive habits.

How Do I Qualify?

You are a class member if you purchased an auto-renewing Noom Healthy Weight Subscription through Noom’s website or app between May 12, 2016, and October 6, 2020, while residing in the United States, and did not receive a full refund or chargeback of your subscription payments. If you received an email or notice through Facebook or Instagram regarding this settlement, Noom’s records indicate you may qualify as a class member.

Not everyone who purchased Noom is included in the settlement. If you did not receive a notice but believe you should be included, please contact Questions@NoomClassSettlement.com or call 1-844-999-2466.

The class is divided into two subclasses:

  • Subclass A: Includes individuals who meet one of the following criteria:
    1. You were charged but never completed your Noom enrollment.
    2. You enrolled but have proof that you did not use Noom after the trial.
    3. You used Noom during the trial but not after being charged for a subscription.
    4. You used Noom two times or fewer after the trial.
    5. You stopped using Noom after day 58 of your subscription.
    6. You received a partial refund for the Healthy Weight Subscription.
    7. You were a California resident when you signed up for a Healthy Weight Subscription.
  • Subclass B: Includes those who do not meet any of the criteria for Subclass A.

What Can I Get?

Estimated average payouts for members of each subclass are as follows:

  • Subclass A: Approximately $167.00
  • Subclass B: Approximately $30.00 (excluding any subscription fee credits). Members of Subclass B can also opt for one free month of Noom’s Healthy Weight product, which does not affect their cash reward.

How Do I File a Claim?

To receive a payment, you needed to complete and submit a valid class action Claim Form online by June 24, 2022. A Final Approval Hearing was held at 10:00 a.m. on July 11, 2022, in New York, and claims are currently being processed.

Please be aware that your claim form will be rejected if it contains fraudulent information.
