PrizePicks Class Action Settlement for Kentucky Players


SidePrize, LLC has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it violated Kentucky gambling laws through contests offered on www.PrizePicks.com. If you played on the site while located in Kentucky between September 1, 2018, and April 1, 2025, and experienced a monetary loss, you may be eligible for a cash payment.

Who Qualifies?

You may be part of the settlement if:

  • You entered any contest on PrizePicks while located in Kentucky (verified by billing address, IP address, or other data);
  • You paid an entry fee between September 1, 2018 and April 1, 2025;
  • You experienced a net monetary loss (entry fees paid minus winnings received).

How Much Can You Receive?

The payout will be distributed pro rata—meaning the exact amount depends on:

  • Your total entry fees and net losses during the class period;
  • The total number of valid claims submitted;
  • The final approved amount after deducting court-approved fees and expenses.

How to File a Claim

Submit your claim no later than June 30, 2025. There are two ways to file:

Required Information

To submit a valid claim, you must include:

  • The Unique ID and PIN from your settlement notice (for online claims);
  • Any email addresses linked to your PrizePicks account;
  • Your PrizePicks Player ID, if available.

Payout Options

Claimants can choose to receive payment by:

  • Check (mailed)
  • PayPal
  • Venmo

Settlement Fund Allocation

The total settlement fund will be distributed as follows:

  • Attorneys’ Fees & Expenses: Up to $583,333.32
  • Class Representative Awards: $5,000 each (total of $10,000)
  • Settlement Administration Costs: To be determined
  • Payments to Class Members: Remainder of the fund

When Will Payments Be Sent?

If the court grants final approval on August 4, 2025, payments are expected to be distributed approximately 120 days later to eligible class members.

Why Was There a Lawsuit?

The lawsuit claimed that contests offered by SidePrize, LLC on PrizePicks violated Kentucky gambling laws. Although the company denies any wrongdoing, it agreed to a settlement to avoid prolonged litigation.
