Sealy 1250 Thread Count Bedding $750,000 Class Action Settlement

Settlement Award: $5 Per Product
Claim Form Deadline: May 12, 2026

What Is the Sealy 1250 Thread Count Bedding Class Action About?

You may be part of a $750,000 class action settlement reached with Sealy, a well-known mattress, bedding, and textiles company. The lawsuit alleges that certain Sealy-branded bedding products were falsely advertised as having a 1250 thread count.

According to the complaint, the thread count and quality of these products were overstated on packaging and marketing materials, in violation of federal and state consumer protection laws. Sealy’s parent company, American Textile Company, agreed to resolve the claims through a settlement but denies any wrongdoing.

The settlement covers Sealy bedding products advertised as having a 1250 thread count, including but not limited to the following product lines:

How Do I Qualify for a Payout?

You are considered a Settlement Class Member if you purchased one or more covered Sealy 1250 thread count bedding products in the United States between October 19, 2016, and October 30, 2025.

The products must have displayed a 1250 thread count on the packaging and fall within the Sealy-branded lines listed above or similar Sealy bedding advertised as having a 1250 thread count.

Purchases made for resale or other commercial purposes may not qualify. The settlement is intended for consumer purchases for personal use within the United States.

What Types of Items Are Included in the Settlement?

The settlement applies to Sealy-branded bedding products advertised as having a 1250 thread count, including but not limited to:

The key requirement is the 1250 thread count labeling, not the specific model name.

Which Products Are Not Included?

The following items are excluded from the settlement:

  • Products without a 1250 thread count listed on the packaging
  • Products purchased outside the eligible time period
  • Non-Sealy branded bedding
  • Mattresses or other non-textile bedding items

If the product packaging stated “1250 thread count” and carried the Sealy brand name, it may qualify regardless of where it was purchased.

How Much Can I Get Paid?

Settlement Class Members may receive $5 for each covered product purchased during the class period.

  • You may claim up to eight products per household without proof of purchase, for a maximum of $40.
  • With valid proof of purchase, such as receipts or online order confirmations, you may claim an unlimited number of eligible products at $5 per item.

Because the total settlement fund is capped at $750,000, payments may be adjusted on a pro rata basis depending on the number of valid claims and the amount remaining after attorneys’ fees, costs, and administration expenses.

How Do I File a Claim?

To receive payment, you must submit a valid Claim Form by the deadline. Claims can be filed in one of two ways:

  • Online: Submit an electronic Claim Form through the official settlement website, certifying the number of eligible Sealy 1250 thread count products purchased.
  • By mail: Download or request a paper Claim Form and mail the completed form to the Settlement Administrator at the address provided in the official notice.

If you are claiming more than eight products, you must include proof of purchase showing the additional qualifying items.

What Is the Claim Form Deadline?

The deadline to submit a claim is May 12, 2026.

  • Online claims must be submitted on or before May 12, 2026.
  • Mailed Claim Forms must be postmarked no later than May 12, 2026.

Important Dates

Key dates associated with the settlement include:

  • Exclusion request deadline: January 21, 2026
  • Objection deadline: January 21, 2026
  • Final Approval Hearing: February 11, 2026
  • Claim Form deadline: May 12, 2026

Dates are subject to change by court order. Always check the official settlement website for the most current information.

When Will Settlement Payments Be Issued?

There is no fixed payment date yet. The Court must first hold the Final Approval Hearing on February 11, 2026, and grant final approval to the settlement.

If the settlement is approved and no appeals are filed, payments will be issued after the settlement becomes final and all claims have been processed. Appeals could delay the payment timeline. Updates will be posted on the official settlement website.

Is Proof of Purchase Required?

Proof of purchase is not required for smaller claims.

  • You may claim up to $40 per household (eight products) without proof by certifying your purchases under penalty of perjury.
  • To claim more than eight products, you must provide proof of purchase, such as receipts, order confirmations, or other documentation reasonably showing the purchase of covered Sealy 1250 thread count bedding during the class period.

How Many People Are Affected?

The settlement notice does not specify the total number of Settlement Class Members. The class includes all U.S. consumers who purchased covered Sealy 1250 thread count bedding products between October 19, 2016, and October 30, 2025, so the number of affected consumers is expected to be substantial.

When Will the Class Action Be Certified?

The Court has already granted preliminary approval and authorized notice to the class. Final certification for settlement purposes will occur if the Court grants final approval at the February 11, 2026 hearing and any appeals are resolved.

What Are the Odds the Settlement Will Be Completed?

The parties have executed a settlement agreement, and the case has progressed through preliminary approval and the claims process. While final approval is not guaranteed, settlements at this stage are typically completed if the Court finds the terms fair, reasonable, and adequate.

What Is the Total Settlement Amount?

The total settlement fund is $750,000. This fund will cover notice and administration costs, court-approved attorneys’ fees and expenses, service awards to class representatives, and payments to eligible claimants.

How Much Will Each Claimant Receive?

Each valid claimant is expected to receive $5 per eligible product.

  • Up to eight products per household (maximum $40) without proof of purchase
  • An unlimited number of products with proof of purchase at $5 per item

Because the settlement fund is limited, individual payments may be adjusted on a pro rata basis depending on the total number of approved claims and the net funds available.
