UnitedHealth Group has agreed to a $1.85 million settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). The lawsuit claims that Optum Community Health Workers, on behalf of the UnitedHealth Optum at Home program, placed artificial or prerecorded voice calls to wireless phones without consent.
Who Is Eligible?
You may qualify as a class member if:
- You are the user or subscriber of a wireless phone number.
- That number received a call from Optum Community Health Workers using a prerecorded or artificial voice.
- You were not a UnitedHealthcare member at the time of the call or had opted out of communications.
- The call occurred between December 11, 2019, and March 27, 2025.
Settlement Details
Each approved claimant will receive a pro rata cash payment, the amount of which depends on the number of valid claims submitted.

The deadline to submit a claim is June 24, 2025. You can:

- Remaining funds distributed among approved claimants

When Will Payments Be Sent?
