Fans aged 40 and older who purchased single-game tickets for Washington Nationals home games during the 2023–2024 season may be eligible for ticket credits or cash payments as part of a $3 million class action settlement.
The lawsuit claimed the Nationals’ “Millennial Monday” and “Young Professional” discount programs discriminated based on age, violating local laws by offering discounts only to fans aged 21–39.
Who Is Eligible?
You qualify if you meet all of the following:
- You were 40 years or older at the time of purchase
- You bought at least one single-game ticket to a Washington Nationals home game during the 2023 or 2024 MLB regular season
- You bought the ticket directly from the Nationals (via Nationals.com, MLB.com, phone, or the box office) between March 29, 2023, and March 28, 2024
- Your ticket was in one of these seat sections:
- Baseline Box
- Baseline Reserved
- Infield Box
- Corner
- Scoreboard Pavilion
- Upper Gallery
- You did not receive the youth discount
- You paid more than you would have if the discount had applied
What You Can Get:
Eligible class members can choose either:
Ticket Credit:
- Minimum $18 or double your actual overpayment (whichever is greater)
- Credit is added to your MLB.com account and must be used for Nationals home games within 12 months
- If all class members choose this option, up to $3 million will be distributed
Cash Payment:
- 62.2% of your actual overpayment
- Total cash fund capped at $800,000
If money is left after the first distribution, a second pro rata payment will be made in the same form (cash or credit) originally chosen.
How to Claim Your Compensation:
Known Class Members (Nationals have your age on file):
- Want ticket credit? No action needed. It will be deposited automatically after settlement approval
- Want cash instead? File a claim online or by mail within 90 days of final judgment
Unknown Class Members (Nationals don’t have your age):
- Must file a claim and verify date of birth and ticket purchase
- Can choose either cash or ticket credit
